G2.ig swept two matches to climb to the top of Group B at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 on Tuesday.
G2.ig improved to 3-0-1, notching a pair of 2-0 wins against Team Liquid and Team Falcons. Falcons and Tundra Esports share second place in Group B at 2-1-1, followed by Liquid (2-0-2) and LGD Gaming (1-1-2). 9Pandas (0-1-3) will not make the playoff stage.
Azure Ray and Gaimin Gladiators are tied atop Group A at 2-2-0 after two days of competition. Azure Ray swept Wawitas Sagazes and tied BetBoom Team on Tuesday, while Gaimin Gladiators swept Blacklist International and Wawitas Sagazes.
BetBoom Team (0-4-0), Team Secret (1-2-1) and Blacklist International (1-1-2) are chasing the Group A leaders, while Wawitas Sagazes (0-1-3) will not make the playoffs.
Twelve teams are competing in the $1 million Dota 2 tournament in the Malaysian capital. The winner of Sunday’s grand final will earn $300,000 and 4,800 ESL Pro Tour points.
The top two teams from each group advance to the upper bracket of the double-elimination playoffs and the third- and fourth-place teams go to the lower bracket. The bottom two teams in each group are eliminated. Group stage matches are two games, while the playoffs are best-of-three except the best-of-five grand final.
