Claude Giroux and Vladimir Tarasenko each had a goal and an assist to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 5-1 win over the host Detroit Red Wings on Saturday.

Joonas Korpisalo made 30 saves for Ottawa, which has won three of its last four games. Detroit lost its second straight.

Ottawa opened the scoring 1:57 into the game on a power-play goal by Giroux, who pounced on a loose puck in front of the Detroit goal and tapped the rebound into an open net.

Detroit tied the game at 1-1 on a power-play goal of its own that was also the first goal in a Red Wings uniform for the newly signed Patrick Kane. He fired a wrist shot from the left face-off circle past Korpisalo with 5:11 remaining in the first.

With 16:24 remaining in the second period, Ottawa regained the lead on a power-play goal by Tarasenko, who one-timed a shot from the top of the left face-off circle past Detroit goalie Alex Lyon.

Ottawa scored again with 11:24 left in the second, this time courtesy of Dominik Kubalik, who rifled a one-timer from above the left face-off circle past Lyon to give the Senators a 3-1 lead.

Ottawa took a 4-1 lead with 1:04 left in the second on a goal by Tim Stutzle, who took a pass from Drake Batherson in front of the Detroit goal and beat Lyon to the stick side.

The Senators wrapped up the scoring with 3:25 remaining in the game on a goal by Jake Sanderson.

Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin left the game with 6:10 remaining in the first period after being punched in the head by Ottawa’s Mathieu Joseph in a scrum in front of the Ottawa goal. Larkin initially laid motionless on the ice before eventually getting up and being helped off.
