UNLV’s road game at Dayton was called off Wednesday night after a mass shooting earlier in the day on the Las Vegas campus.

“Due to the tragic events unfolding on UNLV’s campus, tonight’s men’s basketball contest between UNLV and the University of Dayton will not be played,” the Dayton basketball program posted to its X account. “Further information will be released when available. We ask that our fans keep the UNLV community in their thoughts and prayers.”

UNLV reposted the Dayton post to its official X account.

UNLV’s trip to the Midwest was its first scheduled game in eight days. The team’s next game is scheduled for Saturday against Loyola Marymount in the Jack Jones Classic at Henderson, Nev.

According to news reports, multiple people were shot on campus, while the shooter was found dead. The campus alert system was activated just before noon local time.

UNLV has 30,000 enrolled students.
