The Milwaukee Brewers are set to announce a record-setting contract with 19-year-old outfield prospect Jackson Chourio, MLB Network reported Thursday.

The deal is expected to be for about $80 million over eight guaranteed years, making it the richest contract ever for a player who has yet to reach the big leagues. The agreement includes two team options, per the report.

The previous largest deal for a player yet to make the majors was the six-year, $50 million contact Luis Robert signed with the White Sox in January 2020.

Chourio spent most of the 2023 season at Double-A Biloxi and batted .280/.336/.467 with 22 homers, 89 RBIs and 43 stolen bases in 122 games.

The Venezuela native is currently ranked No. 2 overall in the MLB Pipeline prospect rankings behind Baltimore Orioles middle infielder Jackson Holliday.

Over three seasons in Milwaukee’s minor league system, Chourio has batted .286 with 47 home runs, 191 RBIs and 68 steals in 272 games.
