Sean East II scored 17 points and Nick Honor added 13 points to lead Missouri (5-2), which has won four of its last five games.

Carter and Honor each made three shots from 3-point range, while East was 7 of 12 from the field.

Alonso Faure had 18 points and eight rebounds, D’Angelo Stines scored 14 points and David Brown III added 11 points in defeat for Loyola (1-5), which has lost four in a row.

Faure was 6 of 7 from the field.

Missouri shot 44.8 percent from the field overall (26 of 58), 39.3 percent from 3-point range (11 of 28) and forced 18 turnovers.

Loyola shot 44.6 percent overall (25 of 56), 33.3 percent from 3-point range (10 of 30) and held a 41-34 rebounding advantage over the Tigers.

Missouri held a 47-45 lead with 12:53 remaining in the game before it separated itself from there.

The Tigers went on a 12-4 run over the next 2:46 to take a 59-46 lead with 10:07 left.

Loyola didn’t fade, cutting the Missouri lead to eight at 70-62 with 4:38 remaining after a 3-pointer by Deon Perry.

Missouri had a response, as Carter converted a three-point play with 3:33 to give the Tigers a 75-62 lead.

Loyola stayed within striking distance, cutting Missouri’s lead to 76-68 with 1:25 remaining after a free throw from Faure.

However, that would be as close as Loyola would get the rest of the way.

Missouri sprinted out to a big lead in the first half, going up 29-9 with 8:27 remaining until halftime.

But Loyola made a furious rally before intermission.

Trailing by 18 points with 5:48 left in the first half, the Greyhounds ended the first half on an 18-4 run to make it 35-31 Missouri at halftime.
