The Carolina Panthers designated safety Jeremy Chinn to return from injured reserve, opening his 21-day practice window on Wednesday.

Chinn, 25, was placed on IR on Oct. 24 with a quad injury. The 2020 second-round pick has 23 tackles and one sack in six starts this season.

The news was not all positive for the Panthers (1-9), who placed right guard Austin Corbett and cornerback Dicaprio Bootle on IR with knee injuries.

Both were injured during last Sunday’s 33-10 home loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Corbett will miss the remainder of the season after getting hit in the knee, although he did not miss a snap.

Corbett, 28, played in four games (all starts) in his second season with Carolina. Bootle, 26, has 14 tackles and two passes defensed in eight games (two starts) in his first season with the Panthers.
