Free-agent right-hander Lance Lynn has agreed to a guaranteed one-year deal with the St. Louis Cardinals, according to multiple reports on Monday.

MLB Network reported Lynn’s deal is a one-year contract with $10 million guaranteed for 2024, pending a team physical. With 2024 incentives and an option in 2025, the contract could be worth $25 million, according to USA Today.

Lynn began his major league career with the Cardinals in 2011 and would return to the team as part of a rebuilt rotation.

Lynn, 36, pitched for the Chicago White Sox last season before he was dealt to the Los Angeles Dodgers at the trade deadline.

He was 13-11 with an ERA of 5.73 overall in 2023. In his final start with the Dodgers, Game 3 of the National League Division Series, Lynn allowed four home runs in 2 2/3 innings in a loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

He allowed 44 home runs in 183 2/3 innings during the 2023 regular season.

Lynn pitched the first six seasons of his 12-year career with the Cardinals and posted a record of 72-47 with an ERA of 3.38.
