CF Montreal fired head coach Hernan Losada on Thursday after just one season.
The MLS club also relieved assistant coach Sebastian Setti of his duties.
Montreal (12-17-5, 41 points) finished just two points below the cutline for the 2023 MLS Cup playoffs.
“Following the assessment of the season, it was determined this decision is in the Club’s best interest for 2024 and beyond,” the team said in a news release. “… The selection process for CF Montreal’s next head coach for the 2024 season is actively underway.”
Montreal scored only 36 goals in 34 MLS matches this season, tied for 13th in the 15-team Eastern Conference.
Losada, 41, previously coached at D.C. United from 2021-22. The Argentina native began his managerial career at Belgium’s Beerschot from 2019-21.
