The Denver Broncos placed Brandon Johnson on injured reserve Saturday after the second-year wideout injured his hamstring during practice Thursday.

Johnson will have to miss the next four weeks at least.

The Broncos elevated WR Tre’Quan Smith from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Smith was just signed three weeks ago.

Johnson had eight catches for 122 yards and three touchdowns in seven games (two starts) this season.

Smith was released late last month by the New Orleans Saints, who selected him in the third round of the 2018 draft. He had 131 catches for 1,7644 yards and 18 TDs in 66 career games (35 starts) for the Saints.

Broncos running back Javonte Williams was fined $13,433 by the league Saturday for unnecessary roughness in last week’s game against the Green Bay Packers. Williams lowered his head on a tackler. He was not flagged on the play.
