Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young will start this weekend’s game against the visiting Minnesota Vikings, coach Frank Reich announced Friday.
Young, the top overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, sat out last Sunday due to a sprained ankle. He watched as Andy Dalton guided the Panthers, who lost 37-27 to the Seattle Seahawks.
Young, however, has been a full participant in practice each day this week and does not have an injury designation headed into Sunday’s contest between a pair of 0-3 teams.
“Bryce will be our quarterback. He’s had a good week of practice, so it’s full steam ahead,” Reich said.
Young, 22, has completed 42 of 71 pass attempts for 299 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in two games with the Panthers.
Carolina running back Miles Sanders (groin), wide receiver Jonathan Mingo (concussion) and linebacker Frankie Luvu (hip) are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. Safety Xavier Woods (hamstring) is listed as out.
