New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley participated in individual drills and was listed as limited in Thursday’s practice.

Head coach Brian Daboll said the team will see how Barkley’s right ankle holds up before taking the next step.

“Going to put him out here, go through some individual stuff, let him run around and see how he does,” Daboll said. “But again, making progress. I think this is a good evaluation today in pads to see where he’s at.”

Thursday was New York’s first practice ahead of Monday night’s home game against the Seattle Seahawks (2-1) in East Rutherford, N.J.

Barkley, 26, suffered an ankle sprain in Week 2 toward the end of the Giants’ victory at Arizona.

Initial reports said he was expected to miss three weeks, but Daboll has called Barkley “a quick healer.”

Barkley missed time with ankle injuries in 2019 and 2021. His 2020 season ended with a torn ACL in Week 2.

Through two games, Barkley leads the Giants (1-2) with 155 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns.

Also on Thursday, offensive lineman Ben Bredeson exited concussion protocol and was listed as a full participant in practice.

Offensive lineman Andrew Thomas (hamstring), tight end Daniel Bellinger (neck), linebacker Azeez Ojulari (hamstring) and defensive lineman D.J. Davidson (elbow) were listed as limited.
