MLB: Pirates place LHP Bailey Falter (neck) on 15-day IL

The Pittsburgh Pirates placed left-hander Bailey Falter on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a left neck strain, ending his season.

Also on Sunday, the Pirates recalled right-hander Osvaldo Bido from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Falter, 26, is 2-2 with a 5.58 ERA in 10 appearances (seven starts) since the Pirates acquired him from Philadelphia on Aug. 1. He was 0-7 with a 5.13 ERA in eight appearances (seven starts) with the Phillies.

Bido, 27, is 2-5 with a 6.36 ERA in 14 appearances (eight starts) in his previous two stints with Pittsburgh this season.
