CSGO: Heroic, FaZe claim grand finals at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups

FaZe Clan (Group C) and Team Heroic (Group B) won their grand finals on Thursday at the BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2023 in Copenhagen.

Heroic beat Natus Vincere 2-1 and FaZe swept Team Liquid to advance to the Fall Final. Both Na’Vi and Liquid are seeded in Round 2 of the Knockout Stage with the losses.

Ninjas in Pyjamas won the Group A title on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Heroic opened with a 16-11 win over Mirage before Na’Vi responded with a 16-14 win on Inferno. Heroic wrapped it up with a 16-12 triumph on Nuke, surviving after nearly blowing an 11-3 lead. Martin “stavn” Lund led the all-Danish side with 63 kills, while Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard and Casper “cadiaN” Moller led Heroic with plus-4 kills-to-deaths differentials.

Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev was fantastic in defeat for Na’Vi, with 63 kills and a plus-16 K-D differential.

FaZe had a far easier time getting out of Group C, beating Liquid 16-7 on Overpass and 16-11 on Ancient. Finn “karrigan” Andersen of Denmark led FaZe with 43 kills and a plus-15 K-D differential. Every player on FaZe finished with a positive differential.

The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event began with a double-elimination group stage, with the field split into three groups of four teams.

All matches are best-of-three and the winners of each group will advance straight to the Fall Final. The remaining nine teams advance to the seeded play-in stage to compete for three more Fall Final berths.

10-12. $5,666, 300 BLAST Premier points, qualifies to Fall Showdown — TBD
