Golden Guardians won and Cloud9 lost on Wednesday, leaving the two teams tied for first place as the final week of the League of Legends League Championship Series Summer Split group play began.

Golden Guardians (11-5) defeated Team Liquid (9-7), while NRG (9-7) downed Cloud9 (11-5).

In the chase for the sixth and final upper-bracket playoff berth, sixth-place TSM (8-8) fell to FlyQuest (5-11), allowing Dignitas (7-9) to cut its deficit to one game. Dignitas beat 100 Thieves (6-10).

The other Wednesday match saw Evil Geniuses (10-6) get past last-place Immortals (4-12).

The 10 teams in the top North American League of Legends circuit will play every other team twice in the group phase, which runs through Friday. All group-stage matches consist of a single map.
