Justen Glad scored in the eighth minute of stoppage time to rally Real Salt Lake to a 2-2 draw with Minnesota United on Saturday night in Sandy, Utah.

Glad, who earlier in the second half had hit the crossbar with a header, knocked in a left-footed shot from the edge of the 6-yard box off a Diego Luna cross for his third goal of the season.

Danny Musovski also scored a goal and Zac MacMath made two saves for Real Salt Lake (7-7-6, 27 points), which extended their unbeaten streak to five games (3-0-2).

Emanuel Reynoso, making his first start of the 2023 season, had a goal and an assist, and Hassani Dotson also scored for Minnesota United (5-7-6, 21 points). Clint Irwin, making his second start of the season with starter Dayne St. Clair away on international duty, finished with four saves.

Real Salt Lake, playing its third game in an eight-day span, looked like it would have a good chance to take an early lead when Bode Hidalgo was pulled down while crossing into the right side of the box by Loons defender D.J. Taylor for an apparent penalty kick. But after a lengthy VAR review, referee Tori Penso rescinded the penalty call.

Minnesota United then took a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute on Dotson’s first goal of the season. MacMath had slapped a Reynoso crossing pass from the right side of the box down to Dotson stationed at the edge of the 6-yard box. MacMath blocked Dotson’s first shot attempt but Dotson then roofed the rebound into the top right corner of the goal.

The Loons extended their lead to 2-0 in the 39th minute when Jeong Sang-Bin curled a cross from the left side of the box over the arm of MacMath to a wide-open Reynoso alone by the far post, where he put in a sliding left-footed shot for his first goal of the season.

RSL had a chance to cut the lead to one goal in the 48th minute when Pablo Ruiz blasted a long left-footed shot from outside the box into the right corner of the net. But the goal was waived off after a VAR review determined that Anderson Julio was offside on the play.

Musovski then made it 2-1 in the 79th minute when he took a long pass down the center of the field from Ruiz and fired a right-footed shot from the top of the box past Irwin for his fourth goal of the season.
