Top-seeded Barbora Krejcikova blasted fellow Czech Linda Fruhvirtova 6-3, 6-2 on Friday to reach the semifinals of the Rothesay Classic in Birmingham, England.

Krejcikova never faced a break point in the 72-minute victory over her 18-year-old compatriot. Her next opponent in the WTA 250 grass-court tournament will be China’s Zhu Lin, a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 winner against Canada’s Rebecca Marino.

No. 2 Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia and No. 4 Anastasia Potapova of Russia will meet in the other semifinal. Ostapenko trailed 6-4, 4-0 in her quarterfinal clash Friday before rallying to defeat Poland’s Magdalena Frech 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 in two hours and 19 minutes.

Potapova also came from behind for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win against England’s Harriet Dart in two hours and six minutes. Both players struggled with their serves, each committing nine double faults.
