NBA2K: Pistons, Bucks move to 3-0 at NBA 2K League’s The Turn

Pistons GT and Bucks Gaming pulled out overtime wins on Thursday to improve to 3-0 in group play at the NBA 2K League’s The Turn event.

Posting a 76-75 victory against T-Wolves Gaming, all five Pistons scored in double figures, led by Anthony “ANT” Costanzo’s 23 points to go along with 14 assists. Teammate Ja’Ron “Bagmotion” Baylor chipped in 21 points. For the T-Wolves, Michael “BearDaBeast” starred with 30 points and eight assists.

Behind 21 points apiece from Mason “JohhnyRed” Bracken and Michael “Cooks” Campbell — who added 12 assists — Bucks Gaming prevailed 65-61 over Blazer5 Gaming. Claude “Claude” Knight finished with 22 points to lead the way for Blazer5.

NetsGC, Warriors Gaming Squad and NBL Oz Gaming also remained unbeaten, improving to 2-0.

Edging 76ers GC 84-81 in double overtime, NetsGC won behind a trio of 20-point scorers, topped by Alexander “Steez” Bernstein’s 22 points and 17 rebounds. Tariq “Greens” Reed collected 21 points and nine assists and Glenn “GlennRatty” Wilkerson notched 20 points and seven rebounds. Enrique “630” Xavier Barraza’s 24 points and nine assists led the 76ers.

The Warriors won 58-55 against Kings Guard Gaming as Nidal “Mama Im Dat Man” Nasser posted 23 points and six assists. For the Kings, Reginald “Regg” Nash netted a team-high 15 points.

NBL Oz Gaming rolled over Heat Check Gaming 71-56 as Gerald “Sick One” Knapp posted 22 points and 15 rebounds. Ky “Ky” Johnson was the Heat’s top scorer with 19 points.

Magic Gaming picked up their first win, defeating previously unbeaten Cavs Legion GC 73-60 behind Joshua “unguardable” Hunter’s monster 38-point, 11-asisst performance. Teammate Devin “Scoreo” Lawrence played a key role with 20 points and nine rebounds. For the Cavs, Wahid “Faiz” Faiz contributed 21 points and six assists.

Pacers Gaming also scored their first victory, beating Lakers Gaming 79-66, with Dylan “Greenlight” Sanderson pouring in 38 points and dishing out six assists.

In Thursday’s other games, Knicks Gaming edged Hawks Talon GC 66-62, Jazz Gaming slipped past DUX Infinitos 66-65 and the Gen.G Tigers topped Raptors Uprising GC 63-47.

The NBA 2K League 5v5 season will include three tournaments — The Tipoff, The Turn and The Ticket — that will set the field for the playoffs, scheduled for Aug. 2-5 in Washington. 76ers GC defeated T-Wolves Gaming to claim The Tipoff last week.

Remote group play in The Turn will establish the bracket for remote bracket play. The event will conclude with in-person tournament play at District E in Washington in late July.
