Nashville SC will look to extend a number of gaudy streaks on Wednesday night when they visit CF Montreal.

Nashville SC (10-3-5, 35 points) posted a 3-1 victory over expansion side St. Louis City SC on Saturday to extend their club-record unbeaten streak to 10 matches (7-0-3).

Hany Mukhtar notched his fourth career MLS hat trick in the win. An impressive offensive explosion to be certain, but coach Gary Smith admitted that he’s growing accustomed to seeing the fireworks from the reigning league MVP.

“It’s almost something that you expect to happen now,” Smith said of Mukhtar, whose 13 goals and 20 goals contributions lead MLS. “And even I get caught up in the world where, ‘Well, of course he will.’ Because he’s that good.”

Mukhtar notched an assist in Nashville SC’s 2-0 win over CF Montreal on March 11. The victory was the third in a row in the series between the clubs and extended Nashville SC’s unbeaten run to six (4-0-2) against CF Montreal.

CF Montreal (7-9-1, 22 points) will look to exact a bit of revenge on Wednesday at home, where they have won each of their last five matches in MLS play.

Mason Toye scored his first two goals of the season on June 10 to help CF Montreal breeze to a 4-0 rout of Minnesota United. CF Montreal enjoyed a well-deserved break after that match, considering they played 11 times in a span of 36 days.

“The positivity in this group has been so important, any players that is in the group has the right mindset,” CF Montreal coach Hernan Losada said. “This run was honestly extremely tiring. I’m exhausted. If I feel this way, I can only imagine how the players feel, this schedule was madness.”

Zachary Brault-Guillard and Rudy Camacho also scored in the win for CF Montreal.
