XFL: Defenders separate from Sea Dragons, advance to XFL title game

Jordan Ta’amu tossed a pair of touchdowns, including a 26-yarder to Ethan Wolf that staked his team to a 23-9 third-quarter lead, as the DC Defenders defeated the visiting Seattle Sea Dragons Saturday to win the North Division Championship.

DC (9-1) now advances to the XFL Championship Game in San Antonio on Sat., May 13, where the Defenders will face the Arlington Renegades (4-6) who also advanced by downing the Houston Roughnecks 26-11 on Saturday.

Cam’Ron Harris added a 1-yard rushing score three minutes in the fourth quarter to essentially close things out. Harris finished with two rushing scores and 25 yards on five carries.

Seattle (7-3) was paced offensively by quarterback Ben DiNucci, who completed 31 of 48 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. Ta’amu finished 19-for-31 for 258 yards with two interceptions.
