Luis Arraez hit for the cycle for the Miami Marlins during their game against the host Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday.

It marked the first cycle in the history of the franchise. The Marlins were the only MLB club never to have a player hit for the cycle before Tuesday.

Arraez doubled in the first inning, tripled in the sixth, homered in the seventh and singled in the eighth, helping the Marlins go on to win 8-4.

Arraez, 26, was acquired from the Minnesota Twins in January, months after he won the American League batting title with a .316 average in 2022. Arraez entered Tuesday batting .500 (18-for-36) this season, leading the majors.
