Free agent running back D’Ernest Johnson agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, ESPN reported Wednesday.

Financial terms were not disclosed for Johnson, who has played behind star Nick Chubb and versatile Kareem Hunt with the Cleveland Browns.

Johnson, 27, had just four carries for 17 yards and three catches for seven yards this past season. Those totals came one season removed from Johnson notching career bests in carries (100), rushing yards (534), rushing touchdowns (three), catches (19) and receiving yards (137).

Johnson has rushed 141 times for 738 yards with three touchdowns in 64 career games (two starts) with the Browns.

In Jacksonville, Johnson likely will compete with JaMycal Hasty and Snoop Conner for snaps behind starter Travis Etienne Jr.
