Excel Esports said Tuesday that mid laner Vincent “Vetheo” Berrie is taking a break to focus on his mental health.

“We understand that this has been a challenging time for him, and we want to express our empathy and support for him during this difficult period,” the League of Legends team posted on Twitter.

Vetheo joined Excel Esports in December following a two-year run with Misfits Gaming.

“I’ve been depressed since winter split and I don’t know how to get better if not winning,” Vetheo tweeted Tuesday. “I think it is time to take a bit care of myself.”

The 20-year-old Frenchman will be replaced by Felix “Abbedagge” Braun of Germany for the final week of the LEC Spring 2023 regular season.

Abbedagge, 23, joined Excel in January following a stint with 100 Thieves. He will make his debut Saturday against KOI.
