Winnipeg Jets forward Cole Perfetti is expected to be sidelined at least eight weeks due to an upper-body injury, coach Rick Bowness announced Friday.

Perfetti, 21, sustained the injury in the Jets’ 4-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Sunday. He was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday.

Per Bowness, Perfetti’s injury is not related to the one he sustained to his shoulder that caused him to miss time last season.

Perfetti has totaled 30 points (eight goals, 22 assists) in 51 games this season.

He has 37 points (10 goals, 27 assists) in 69 career games since being selected by the Jets with the 10th overall pick of the 2020 NHL Draft.
