Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo left Thursday’s game against the host Chicago Bulls after suffering a wrist injury in the second quarter while attempting to block a shot by Coby White.

The Bucks labeled the injury a sprain, and Antetokounmpo’s status for Sunday’s All-Star Game was not immediately known. The Bucks announced he would not return to the game, which was Milwaukee’s last before the All-Star break.

With 10:55 remaining in the second period, Antetokounmpo swiped at White’s driving layup attempt as both approached the hoop, then fell awkwardly into the base of the basket. With White beneath him, the 7-footer attempted to break his fall by bracing himself against the padded standard with his right arm, but he fell anyway and immediately grabbed for his right wrist.

The Most Valuable Player candidate had two points, seven rebounds and three assists in nine minutes.

Antetokounmpo also passed Paul Pressey to become the Bucks’ all-time franchise leader in assists with 3,274.
