Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg was injured when he was checked into the boards by Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen in the waning moments of the first period of Saturday’s game in Philadelphia.

Forsberg, who appeared to hit his head on the ice, remained down before needing assistance from teammates Matt Duchene and Dante Fabbro to get to the locker room.

He did not return to the bench to start the second period.

Forsberg, 28, entered the game with a club-best 19 goals, while his 42 points are tied for the team lead with captain Roman Josi.

Forsberg has totaled 511 points (239 goals, 272 assists) in 616 career games with the Predators.
