Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed left Sunday’s AFC Championship game on the opening drive to be evaluated for a concussion.

Sneed lowered his head and collided with forward-charging Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine. He made the tackle but remained on the turf.

Kansas City’s top cover cornerback this season, Sneed was helped to the medical tent on the Chiefs’ sideline as Patrick Mahomes and the offense took the field in the first quarter.

Chiefs linebacker Willie Gay was helped off the field in the third quarter with an apparent left shoulder injury.

The Bengals lost wide receiver Tyler Boyd to a left thigh injury. He had two receptions for 40 yards in the first half.

Kansas City was operating without wide receiver Kadarius Toney by the start of the second quarter. Toney went to the locker room to have his left ankle injury examined.
