The Seattle Mariners officially signed veteran outfielder AJ Pollock to a one-year contract Thursday.

Terms were not disclosed but earlier reports placed the value of the deal at $7 million.

Pollock, 35, batted .245 with 14 home runs and 56 RBIs in 138 games with the Chicago White Sox last season.

“AJ is a terrific fit for our roster,” Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto said. “Among many quality traits, his high character and baseball IQ are tailor-made for our group, while his experiences in key roles for championship quality teams will no doubt provide value in our ongoing development.”

Pollock is a career .276/.332/.469 hitter with 140 home runs, 470 RBIs and 122 steals in 11 seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks (2012-18), Los Angeles Dodgers (2019-21) and White Sox.

The 2009 first-round pick made the National League All-Star team and won a Gold Glove in 2015. He won the World Series with the Dodgers in 2020.
