Timmy Allen scored 17 points and Sir’Jabari Rice added 15, including three key free throws in the final 6.2 seconds, as No. 10 Texas roared back to beat No. 17 TCU 79-75 on Wednesday in Austin, Texas.

The Horned Frogs were up by 13 points at halftime, but Texas rallied to tie the game at 67 on two free throws by Rice with 4:39 to play. After three more ties, Marcus Carr canned a 3-pointer with 1:01 remaining to put the Longhorns ahead 76-75.

Emanuel Miller’s layup with 37 seconds left cut TCU’s deficit to one point, but he missed a free throw that would have tied the game and Rice grabbed the rebound. The Longhorns ran the clock down to 8 seconds and Carr missed a shot, but Rice nabbed the offensive rebound, was fouled and made two free throws to put Texas up by three points.

Rice made one of two free throws with 1 second remaining to ice the game.

Dylan Disu added 14 points on 7-of-7 shooting and Carr hit for 11 for the Longhorns (14-2, 3-1 Big 12).

Miller led all scorers with 21 points while Mike Miles Jr. added 16 for the Horned Frogs (13-3, 2-2).

TCU got its lead into double figures on a breakaway layup by Miller with 10:22 left in the first half and was up 29-13 after two free throws by Damion Baugh 3 1/2 minutes later. TCU expanded its advantage to 18 points on a 3-pointer by Rondel Walker with 2:57 to play before halftime.

The Longhorns found enough swagger in a 7-0 run to close to within 11 points on a putback dunk by Disu with 1:04 remaining. The Horned Frogs closed the impressive half with a layup by Eddie Lampkin after an offensive rebound and enjoyed a 42-29 lead at the break.

Miles led all scorers in the first half with 10 points while Allen paced the Longhorns with seven points.
