Vince Dunn had a goal and two assists and the visiting Seattle Kraken scored four times in the second period to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-1 Thursday night.

Jared McCann added a goal and an assist for the Kraken, who have won the first two games of a seven-game road trip. Eeli Tolvanen, Matty Beniers and Alex Wennberg also scored goals for Seattle, and goaltender Martin Jones stopped 26 shots.

John Tavares scored for the Maple Leafs, who have lost the first two games of a three-game homestand. Matt Murray made 21 saves for Toronto.

Toronto had a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal after a goalless first period. The Maple Leafs had the only power play of the period.

Toronto had the second power play of the game early in the second period, but Seattle killed off the holding penalty to Jordan Eberle.

The Kraken took advantage of their first power play at 7:02 of the second period. Tolvanen scored his fourth goal of the season on a one-timer from above the right circle. Morgan Rielly was off for crosschecking.

Tavares tied the game on a power play at 10:54 of the second with his 16th goal of the season, redirecting Mitchell Marner’s shot from well above the right circle. Yanni Gourde was serving a double minor penalty for high-sticking.

Dunn scored his fifth goal of the season 14 seconds later when he threaded a 46-foot shot through a screen of players.

McCann scored his 18th goal of the season at 13:50 of the second when he was put into the clear by Jaden Schwartz’s long diagonal pass from the left barrier.

Beniers scored his 13th of the season on a shot from the left faceoff circle at 17:25 of the second.

Toronto had a 21-15 advantage in shots on goal after the second period.

In the third period, soon after Seattle killed off a Toronto power play, Wennberg scored his eighth goal of the season on a nine-foot backhand shot off Gourde’s pass at the 2:57 mark.
