NBA: Report: Spurs acquire Noah Vonleh from Celtics

The Boston Celtics are trading center/forward Noah Vonleh and cash considerations to the San Antonio Spurs, who waived Gorgui Dieng to create a roster spot, The Athletic reported Thursday.

Vonleh, 27, was the ninth overall pick in 2014 and is joining his ninth NBA team. His one-year deal with the Celtics would’ve become fully guaranteed on Saturday.

The Athletic reported Vonleh could also be waived by the Spurs.

Vonleh has appeared in 21 games this season, averaging 1.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.

Dieng, 32, averaged 4.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game this season. He played in just one game — Jan. 2 at Brooklyn — since Dec. 15.
