Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons left during the first half of Monday’s game against the visiting Orlando Magic due to left knee soreness.

Simmons finished with four rebounds, three assists and no points on 0-of-3 shooting in just over 11 minutes. Kevin Durant went for 45 points in a 109-102 Brooklyn win.

Coach Jacque Vaughn said after the game that Simmons felt soreness cropping up and asked to come out of the game.

Vaughn described Simmons’ status moving forward as day-to-day.

In his first full season with Brooklyn after last season’s trade out of Philadelphia, Simmons was averaging 8.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game in 16 games (11 starts) before Monday.
